Dr. Werner studied chemistry at the Goethe-University of Frankfurt am Main with an emphasis on biochemistry and structural biology. She completed her PhD thesis at the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Chemical Biology at the University of Frankfurt in the field of biomolecular NMR, which included a research visit at the Department of Structural Biology of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, USA.
Dr. Werner works in the field of intellectual property since 2007 and has been qualified as a German patent attorney and European Patent Attorney. Dr. Werner is admitted before the German Patent and Trademark Office, the German Federal Patent Court, the European Union Intellectual Property Office and the European Patent Office.
Dr. Werner's areas of practice include drafting and prosecution of German, European, and international patent applications. She is familiar with opposition, infringement, and nullity proceedings of German and European patents and in establishing validity and freedom-to-operate opinions. Dr. Werner’s technical fields include biochemistry, biotechnology, chemistry, pharmacology, medical technology, and so on. Also part of her work is the prosecution and enforcement of trademarks.
